The World’s Most Famous Race

The World’s most famous race is the Grand National as racing fans and many of the other general public from around the world tune in. It is widely required as ‘the ultimate test of horse and rider’ which is why it is such a unique and followed event. They race around the famous Aintree race course doing two laps and covering a distance of 4 miles and 514 yards. This is of course while jumping the testing 30 fences that include the chair and Beecher’s brook.

These unique challenges are what makes the race ever popular as they require a certain horse to have success. This year’s race is set to be as competitive as ever as the improving 9 year old Blaklion heads the betting. Trained for Nigel Twiston Davies the Cheltenham festival winner seems to be a rejuvenated horse over the famous fences. On his first experience around Aintree in the 2017 Grand National he finished in 4th having looked the likely winner only to be committed to early. His jumping is the key asset behind his top recent performances.

Blaklion then went into the Beecher’s chase this season as a strong favourite and obliged by 9 lengths firmly stamping himself as the one to beat come the big day in April.
